The Naomi Fund Charity Dance Night

An acclaimed London rock band will perform at a big charity dance night in Grantham, along with the cream of local talent. The David Sinclair Trio play a rocking, blues style guaranteed to go down a storm with the audience at Grantham College Refectory on Saturday, April 5. Led by music journalist Sinclair from West London, the band was formed in 2005 and has released three albums. Sinclair describes the music as “London rock,” while others have highlighted “steely riffs and clever wordplay” and “alternative rock with a bluesy undertone.” The charity dance night is being presented by the Naomi Fund, which supports hospitals which treated little Namomi Fardell, who was born in 1997 with congenital heart defects. Naomi was initially diagnosis at Grantham Kingfisher Ward, and died at Glenfield Intensive Care Unit, Leicester, aged three. Also performing at the dance night are popular local entertainers, singers Paula B, voclaist Terry Carey and musician and singer Trevor Leeson. Trevor is one of Grantham’s best known musicians. He started his career in 1958 as a member of skiffle band The Rebels. After touring with The Pontiacs and a stint in Sleaford-based band Dawn and the Dee-Jays, he joined Grantham’s Gingerbread. He then spent a couple of years with Liverpool’s Merseybeats before going solo.
